Volunteer Position: Air Operations Volunteer (POC)

Application closing date: April 1, 2006


Qualifications:

  • Drivers License valid in Ontario

  • PPL, OR sound understanding of aircraft theory, function, ATC procedures, airspace, and aircraft ground requirements

  • Daily access to email

  • Strong interpersonal skills

  • Experience with inflexible deadlines

  • Ability to work in a fast paced sometimes stressful environment
     


Time Requirements:

  • Year Round requirement

  • Must be willing/able to attend regular Air Ops meetings. One each in January, March, May, June, July and two in August. Plus more when/if required by the Air Ops Manager

  • Approximately 4 hours per week required from June to August

  • He/she will be available part-time from August 29 to September 1

  • He/she will be available 24 hrs/day from September 2 to September 4

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Collect, verify and submit to Air Ops Manager all required paperwork pertaining to assigned performer(s).

  • Liaise between Air Show and performer to ensure ALL performers requirements are addressed prior to arrival in Toronto

  • During Air Show week & weekend ensure that all performers’ requirements are met or exceeded by the Air Show.

  • Responsible to be familiar with, and available to answer questions regarding the terms and conditions of the performers contract.

  • The candidate will ensure availability and stay at the assigned Air Show hotel during the show weekend

  • Other duties may be assigned at the discretion of the Manager of Air Operations

Timely coordination of Air Show and Performer requirements is paramount in the POC role. The successful candidate will be organized, personable, outgoing and accessible.
