For Immediate Release
Canadian International Air Show
Celebrates the British Arrival
Toronto, Ontario, August, 2002- The Canadian International Air Show, the
Grand Finale of the Canadian National Exhibition and one of Canada’s
premier aviation demonstrations, is proud to announce this year’s list
of extraordinary performers.
For over five decades, military and civilian acts from around the world
have demonstrated the latest innovations in flight and performance. This
year’s show will include everything from military precision jet
demonstration teams to the serenity of the world famous Oscar Boesch and
his ASW sailplane.
The Canadian International Air Show is thrilled to also host the Royal
Air Force’s military precision jet team, the Red Arrows. The Red Arrows
are the United Kingdom’s Royal Air Force Aerobatics Team. The Reds, as
they are known, are one of the premiere military aerobatics teams in the
world.
Acts booked to date include the
Canadian Forces
Snowbirds, the Canadian Forces
CT155
Hawk, the
CF Sea
King Helicopter and a
CF18
Hornet. To dazzle the audience we have the amazing wingwalking team,
Beauty and the Beast.
US national advanced aerobatics champion
Sean D. Tucker will be
flying the Team Oracle Challenger plane. His performance imposes more
G-forces on his body than jet fighter pilots experience, a hammering 10+
and –7.5 Gs.
Matt Chapman has been thrilling audiences across North America in his
Mudry Cap 231 EX. Matt’s action packed blend of precision aerobatic
maneuvers leaves the crowds breathless.
From Salinas California, Jim Cheatham and
Showcopters are going to leave
the crowds sitting on the edge of their seats. What seems to be
seemingly crazy flying is precision flying at its best. It is total
non-stop entertainment. Other favorites are the Air Cadets and of course
the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources Waterbomber.
The Canadian International Air Show takes place Labour Day weekend,
August 31, September 1 and 2, 2002 over Lake Ontario, south of the CNE
grounds. All shows begin at 1 p.m. and are free with admission to the
CNE.
